November 28 — A Heart That Listens
Verse: James 1:19
“Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.”
Listening is one of the simplest yet most overlooked ways to demonstrate love.
Sometimes, we become so focused on preparing our response that we fail to understand what another person is saying.
Quick judgments and emotional reactions can create unnecessary misunderstandings.
Scripture encourages us to approach conversations with patience and humility.
Listening does not require agreeing with everything someone says. It means giving others the respect of being heard before responding.
A patient listener often reflects greater wisdom than someone who always has an immediate answer.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, teach me to listen with patience and understanding. Help me avoid quick judgments and unnecessary arguments. Give me wisdom to respond with gentleness and love. In Jesus' name, Amen.
