Deuteronomy 31:6 — Courage in God’s Presence
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
Deuteronomy 31:6
Courage does not mean the absence of fear; it means moving forward despite fear because God is present. Israel faced an uncertain future as they entered a new land, yet God gave a promise stronger than the challenge — His presence.
A young woman once moved to a new city alone for work. Everything was unfamiliar and intimidating. She prayed daily before leaving home, reminding herself God was with her. Gradually confidence replaced fear. The situations did not immediately become easy, but she no longer felt alone. Courage grows where presence is believed.
We are not told to be strong by ourselves, but strong because God walks with us.
Prayer
Father, when I feel afraid, remind me You are with me. Strengthen my heart and give me courage to move forward. Help me trust that I am never alone in any situation. Amen.
