1 Peter 3:15 — Gentle Witness
But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. 1 Peter 3:15
Faith is not defended through argument but expressed through character. Peter does not first say “speak,” he says “honor Christ in your heart.” When Christ truly rules the heart, hope naturally becomes visible. People often ask about faith not because of sermons they hear but because of peace they observe.
A colleague once noticed a believer remaining calm during pressure at work and asked, “Why don’t you panic like others?” That question opened a conversation about faith. The explanation was simple and gentle, not forceful. Hearts open more through kindness than through debate.
The message of Christ must be true, but the manner must also be Christlike.
Prayer
Jesus, rule my heart so my life reflects You. Give me wisdom to share my faith kindly and respectfully. Let my words and attitude point others toward Your love. Amen.
