“And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.”
Easter is God speaking light into darkness again. In creation, darkness covered the earth until God’s word brought light. In the same way, the resurrection of Jesus brought light into the darkness of death and despair. The tomb was silent and sealed, yet God spoke life once more, and Christ rose.
After the crucifixion, the disciples felt hopeless. Their expectations were buried with Jesus. But on Easter morning, light returned. The resurrection declared that sin was defeated, death was overcome, and hope was restored. Just as dawn always follows night, resurrection follows the cross.
The same God who created light can bring new beginnings into our lives — into broken situations, weary hearts, and uncertain futures.
Prayer
Risen Lord, shine Your light into every dark place of my life. Fill me with hope and new beginnings through Your resurrection. Help me live each day in the joy of Your victory. Amen.
