“The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you…” — 2 Peter 3:9
Waiting often feels difficult because we measure time by urgency, while God measures it by wisdom. What appears slow to us is often purposeful in His hands.
Peter explains that God’s patience should never be mistaken for neglect. His timing is shaped by compassion. He sees what we cannot see and works toward outcomes deeper than immediate answers.
God’s patience also reveals His heart. He does not rush because He values people, growth, and redemption. His delays are often spaces where grace continues to work.
There are moments when we want immediate fulfillment, but later we understand why waiting mattered. God is never careless with time. His promises remain certain even when fulfillment takes longer than expected.
If you are waiting today, remember delay is not abandonment. God is still faithful, still working, and still patient in ways that serve His greater purpose.
Prayer:
Lord, help me trust Your timing when I do not understand delay. Teach me patience as I wait for Your promises. Amen.
