James 4:6 — Grace for the Humble
“But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, ‘God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.’”
Grace flows where humility lives. Pride quietly blocks God’s help because it refuses dependence. Humility does not mean thinking poorly of yourself; it means recognizing your need for God. The humble person learns quickly, forgives easily, and prays honestly.
A worker once made a serious mistake but immediately admitted it instead of hiding it. Rather than punishment, he received guidance and support. His honesty opened the door for help. Pride isolates; humility invites grace. God is not distant from weakness — He resists self-sufficiency but rushes toward surrender.
Prayer
Father, remove pride from my heart. Teach me to depend on You daily. Help me accept correction, forgive quickly, and walk gently with others. Pour Your grace upon my life as I humble myself before You. Amen.
