“No servant can serve two masters… You cannot serve both God and Money.” — Luke 16:13
Jesus speaks here about the divided heart. Human beings often try to balance multiple loyalties—wanting security, success, approval, and comfort, while also wanting to follow God. Yet Jesus explains that when ultimate priorities compete, the heart will eventually lean toward one.
The issue is not money itself but the place it occupies in the heart. When material gain becomes the primary guide for decisions, it quietly replaces trust in God. But when God remains first, everything else—including work, resources, and success—finds its proper place.
Serving God means allowing His wisdom, values, and purposes to shape our choices. It means trusting Him even when faithfulness does not seem immediately profitable or convenient.
This verse invites honest reflection. Where does your heart look for ultimate security? What truly guides your decisions?
When God becomes your true Master, life becomes simpler. Your direction becomes clearer, and your peace becomes deeper.
Prayer:
Lord, help my heart remain devoted to You above everything else. Teach me to seek Your kingdom first. Amen.
