November 14 — A Teachable Spirit
Verse: Proverbs 12:1
“Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid.”
Growth requires more than a desire to improve. It also requires a willingness to be corrected.
Sometimes, correction challenges our pride because it reveals areas we would rather ignore.
But a teachable heart recognizes that wisdom can come through God's Word, godly counsel, and honest feedback.
Instead of becoming defensive whenever someone points out a mistake, consider whether there is something valuable to learn.
Spiritual maturity is not about never making mistakes. It is about remaining willing to grow.
Prayer:
Father, give me a humble and teachable spirit. Help me receive correction with grace and recognize the areas where I need to grow. Shape my character through Your wisdom and truth. In Jesus' name, Amen.
