October 25 — Let Your Expectations Rest in God
Verse: Psalm 62:5–6
“Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from Him.”
People will disappoint you sometimes.
Even good people.
They cannot carry the weight of being your ultimate source of security.
Neither can a relationship.
A career.
A salary.
A home.
A future plan.
These things can bless your life.
But they cannot hold your soul together.
When you expect another person to provide the peace only God can give, the relationship becomes heavier than it was meant to be.
Love people deeply.
Dream boldly.
Work faithfully.
But keep your deepest hope anchored somewhere stronger.
People can be part of God's provision without becoming your foundation.
Prayer:
Father, let my deepest hope rest in You. Help me love people without expecting them to meet needs only You can meet. Be my security, stability, and source of peace.
