October 18 — Choose Compassion
Verse: Colossians 3:12–14
“Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.”
What you wear affects how people experience you.
Scripture uses that picture for character.
Put on compassion.
Put on kindness.
Put on humility.
Put on patience.
These qualities do not always come naturally.
Especially when you are hurt.
Especially when you believe you are right.
Especially when you are tired.
But maturity often shows itself most clearly in difficult conversations.
You can disagree without disrespect.
You can establish boundaries without cruelty.
You can be truthful without becoming harsh.
Grace and truth were never meant to be enemies.
Prayer:
Father, clothe me with compassion today. Help me respond with humility, patience, and kindness even when conversations are difficult. Let the way I treat people reflect You.
