October 13 — Seek God Before Everything Else
Verse: Matthew 6:33
“Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
There are many good things you can desire.
Marriage.
A fulfilling career.
Financial stability.
A peaceful home.
Children.
Success.
Security.
But even good desires become heavy when they take God's place.
Seeking God first does not mean you stop wanting these things.
It means they no longer become the source of your identity.
Your life is bigger than whether a particular plan works out.
Your worth is bigger than your relationship status.
Your calling is bigger than one job.
Let everything good in your life sit underneath something greater:
Your relationship with God.
When God is first, everything else finds its proper place.
Prayer:
Father, help me seek You above everything else. Keep my desires from becoming idols. Teach me to want Your will more than any particular outcome.
