October 27 — Look Beyond Appearances
Verse: 1 Samuel 16:7
“People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
Appearances can impress you.
Titles.
Confidence.
Success.
Charm.
Spiritual language.
But God pays attention to something deeper.
The heart.
Character.
Motives.
Integrity.
Humility.
When evaluating people or opportunities, ask God to help you see past what is impressive on the surface.
And when evaluating yourself, remember the same thing.
Your value is not determined by whether you appear successful to everyone else.
God sees the hidden obedience.
The private growth.
The prayers nobody hears.
The battles nobody knows you fought.
God's definition of success reaches deeper than appearances.
Prayer:
Father, give me eyes to see what You see. Help me value character above image and integrity above appearances. Keep my heart sincere before You.
